Brick Walls- It's About Attitude

We all run in to "brick walls" at many points and times during our lives. I have learned that your attitude determines how hard it is to overcome them, rather than the rough place you find yourself .

When you focus on the obstacle itself more than what it will take to break through it, it adds even more hardship. I challenge you to look at the walls in your life not as just an adversity, but how empowered you will feel once you work through the situation.

Attitude and mindset run hand in hand. With the proper mindset, you are able to keep a more positive attitude about life in general. Have you ever noticed at times where a small thing resulted in you acting in a bigger way than it normally would? Suppose you woke up one morning feeling on top of the world. You tell yourself that you will be happy today, no matter what comes your way. You get to work, your boss does something that you didn't like, but you remain happy anyway because you told yourself, no matter what happens today, I am NOT letting anything steal my joy! Sound familiar? Now, lets reverse this. You get up in a bad, grumpy mood. You don't feel like going to work and you tell yourself "No one better mess with me today. They will get themselves told." You get to work, your boss upsets you. Well, you can just imagine how the rest of the story goes.

We have more power and control over our lives than we give ourselves credit. It all starts with having the right attitude. Sometimes we are faced with adversities (brick walls) as a test of faith or to show how bad we really want something. The truth is, if you have the attitude that you really want something, you will do whatever it takes to make it happen! Adversities build faith muscles! We need only look to the story of the butterfly and the cocoon. Without the pressure of pressing against the cocoon, there would be no beautiful wings. They would not be strong enough for flight. A diamond would not exist were it not from extreme pressure. This is all a part of the process, YOUR process.

Let's think outside of the box for a moment. If you have a dream or a vision and you know the keys to reaching your destiny were behind that wall... what would you do to get beyond the wall? Would you climb it, go above it, around it or find a bulldozer to tear it down?

Next time you are faced with an obstacle, instead of focusing on the "brick wall", focus on what is beyond the brick wall! When the desire to achieve what is on the other side of the wall becomes greater than what it will take to get there, it won't be necessarily be easier but you will know it was definitely worth it!

Wishing you all a blessed and happy remainder of your week as we continue to march into a new year!

Peace, blessings and love always!

Until next time....

I am~
